Norman Paintball is your only place in Charleston IL to play Airsoft. This page isdedicated to one of the fastest growing extreme sports and a new rival for the world of Paintball. Allot of the principals are the same actually! It is a ton of fun and if you like real combat simulations, airsoft might be of interest for you. It hurts a little less than paintball especially when your taking hits bare skin.

It's not as easy to tell when your shot and often times you hear it instead of feel it. The guns are most often replicas of the real thing and range from an M16 with grenade launcher attached to an MP5. This what makes the game so crazy, it was like a flashback for me holding the M16, the weight was the same, the accesories were the same...it was like a trip straight back to my military days.

Airsoft guns travel at anywhere from 300 fps to 600 fps. The guns can be adjusted to fire with a set shooting pattern. The only safety requirement is safety goggles but I reccomend paintball goggles, I always wear mine! Nothing like getting shot in the lip with a plastic pellet flying at 400 fps.

Airsoft can be played in a variety of ways much like paintball. The best thing about it is you can play anywhere and all you need is a gun, goggles, fully charged battery and a bucket of plastic bb's. It is normal for everyone on the field to be shooting full auto, unlike paintball. Regardless, this sport is a blast and I highly reccomend at least giving it a try.
